Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich it the most eastern Munro in the Fannaich range. It is connected to neighbouring Munro Sgurr Mhor via its sharp sweeping SW ridge. Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich is normally accessed from Sgurr Mor in this way or else from the north via its northern ridge. The summit itself is rather rounded sitting on an E-W plateau.
One of the best aspects of Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich is the superb views on offer of the east face of Sgurr Mor and of many of the surrounding lochans. Loch a Mhadaidh to the NW is particularly fine.
As mentioned this Munro is generally climbed as an add on to Sgurr Mor so that you can best appreciate its SW ridge however you can easily come in from the north on the main A835 road. Either way this area of the Highlands always has something to offer and a good day out should be had by all.
