Beinn Na lap is a remote Munro lying to the north of Loch Ossian. It can be accessed easily however by taking the west highland train line to Courrour Halt where it is only a small walk of 540m of ascent up the SW summit ridge.
Beinn Na Lap itself is a simple grassy hill with the true summit being the highest point on a SW - NE running ridge. Neither side of the ridge is particularly steep or craggy and offers little if any in the way of technical difficulties. The best aspect to Beinn Na Lap is the feeling of solitude you can achieve on the hill. The feeling of remoteness is another great aspect which is sadly lacking on many other Munros.
There is a youth hostel at Loch Ossian which can be used should you wish to make an expedition of it and climb other Munros deep in the heart of Rannoch Moor.
If you are fit Beinn Na Lap lends itself to be combined with other Munros north of it including Chno Dearg and Stob Coire Sgriodain but involve a fair amount of descent / re-ascent and a long walk in/out.
