Ben Vorlich sits in a group of 4 Munros that make up the bulk of the Arrochar Alps. Sitting right at the end of Loch Lomond, Ben Vorlich although right on the A82 is mostly hidden from its eastern side. Only from the other Arrochar Alps can you really appreciate it. Ben Vorlich is normally climbed on its own and makes a fantastic winter climb. The best aspect of Ben Vorlich is the lack of paths that’s right lack!!! You just need to forge the best way up which makes this a really interesting climb. Ben Vorlich's north eastern ridges known as the “little hills” make for the best approach but has a fair amount of descent/re-ascent however the views down Loch Lomond are fantastic the whole way up pulling you to the top. Parking is available at Inveruglas visitor centre but still involves a hefty walk in. |
