Buachaille Etive Beag (Stob Coire Raineach) - DESCRIPTION

Buachaille Etive Beag has 2 Munro peaks these being Stob Coire Raineach and Stob Dubh. They are at opposite ends of a SW running ridge in the heart of Glencoe. Often Buachaille Etive Beag is seen is the little brother of Buachaille Etive Mor as it shares a very similar layout and boasts much of the same features although it is much smaller. The main ridge on Buachaille Etive Beag is 3km long with a bealach connecting the two sitting at roughly 750m. The ridge itself should not pose any great technical difficulties however it is a tough pull up on to the ridge.

There are two common methods for climbing Buachaille Etive Beag by either starting from the valley to the west of the ridge known as Lairig Eilde or the valley to the east of the ridge called the Lairig Gartain, either way you will most likely head to the 750m bealach to then summit of either of them.

From Stob Coire Raineach you get fantastic views over to the Aonach Eagach ridge to the North of the Glencoe valley. From Stob Dubh there are superb views down Glen Etive to Loch Etive. You will definitely not go short of views and camera opportunities on this walk.

Parking is available in several lay-bys along the A82 but in the summer these can be extremely packed so get there early.

Another superb Glencoe climb to be had here!
