Carn an t-Sagairt Mor lies in the NW corner of a large flat plateau known as the Mounth stretching to Cairn Bannoch in the SE. The summit is rounded and lacks little in the way of identifiable features. The western face however drops quite sharply to the head of Loch Callater. To the NE there is a wide col leading to Carn an t-Sagairt Beag before heading SE to the neighbouring Munro of Carn a Choire Bhoidheach. These two Munros are normally climbed together in an easy outing. Lochnager to the north east is often added as well to really make the day.
Access to these hills is normally from Glen Callater to the west. There is parking available just off the A93 at Auchallater Farm. From here it’s a fairly long walk in to the head of loch Callater. Carn an t-Sagairt Mor’s NW face can be ascended from here.
