Creise is one of 4 peaks known as the Black Mount instantly recognisable when driving along the A82 towards Glencoe. The Black mount is normally split into 2 outings with one being Creise and Meall a’ Bhuirdh. Creise is the most northerly of the group and is made up of a long craggy summit ridge with several tops all sitting fairly high at around 1000m with the true summit sitting at 1100m. There are fantastic views to be had of the huge scree slopes on the western slopes of Meall a’ Bhuirdh. Creise is normal climbed from the east with parking available at the Glencoe Ski Centre. Much of the walk will follow the ski crowds but the beauty of including Creise in the route is that you will leave the skiers behind on Meall a’ Bhuirdh and have a fantastic walk up the high connecting bealach with amazing scrambling opportunities.
The entire Black Mount can be accomplished in one day however would require the use of two vehicles or a VERY long walk out!
