There are two main groups of munros in this area with the main Inverness to Ullapool road between them, plus Ben Wyvis which is lies separately further east. Practically all are contained on Map OS 25. There are many ways to combine these munros into small or large groups.
To the north of the road in the Ben Dearg group a good long day can be had by the use of two cars starting at Inverlael farm(1885) and finishing at the west end of Loch Glascarnoch (2774) picking up many of the munros on the way (although Seana Bhraigh is a long haul this way and is probably more impressive approached form the North on a bike down Strath Mulzie. Recommended is the airy crossing of the outflow of Loch Prille (287815) right at the top of the waterfall which plunges over the cliff. There are a number of well places bothies in this area which are well worth exploring.
To the south of the road there are many ways which the Fannichs can be combined and long days can be generated here. The area features some good stalkers paths for access and very few trees.
Take some time out to visit the Corrieshalloch gorge and suspension bridge. It can be easily approached from the north visitor car park or the south layby at 202780 on the Dundonnel road.
The Isolated Aultguish Inn is situated impressively below the dam and features some backpackers accommodation in the immediate area.
