Ladhar Bheinn is possibly the best of the Knoydart range, it is a fantastic remote Munro with steep craggy ridges and faces in abudundance. It lies to the south of Loch Hourn making it a fine vantage point and can be seen from virtually all other Munros in the area.
The summit is complex with many ridges and spurs due to many surrounding corries but the main summit ridge runs SE to NW. The ridge extends further in each direction to reach subsidiary peaks. The finest corrie of Ladhar Bheinn lies to the NE, Coire Dhorrcail. From Barrisdale this is a superb site and really pulls you towards the Munro.
There are many routes up and across Ladhar Bheinn most start from Barrisdale to the E but you can also access from Inverie from the SW if you take the boat in from Mallaig to really make an expedition of it.
Ladhar Bheinn gives great views down the west coast and beyond the small isles and even further afield to Skye.
Like most of the Knoydart hills Ladhar Bheinn is a truly remote hill with a long walk in from any direction, but this is the aspect that makes the Knoydart hills one of the finest ranges in Scotland!
