Mount Keen is the most easterly Munro and to be fair not the most interesting. It lies well separated from any of its neighbouring Munros further west. The hill is well seen from surrounding areas due to its height in comparison to anything else nearby. The hill is rounded with an elongated summit running north to south. All slopes are easy and mainly grassy offering many different approach routes. Most people however start from the south at Auchronnie where there is parking available. Land Rover tracks lead to Glen Mark to reach to the south ridge of Mount Keen. Much of this track can be cycled to cut down on the long walk in.
Overall the only real quality Mount Keen possess is that it is the most eastern Munro and that its height in comparison to its surroundings makes it a good vantage pointing in which to view the rest the of the Munros of Deeside to the west.
