Usually accessed from Blair Atholl these hills surround the long straight steep sided glen tilt. This glen connects all the way through to Braemar to the NE by tracks or good paths. This glen featured in the TV series “ The Gamekeeper” directed by Ken Loach around 1980 covering the year in the life of the estate.
The Beinn a Ghlo massive dominates the glen to the south and there are a number of good routes up supported by bridges to cross the tilt.
The track up Glen tilt is an excellent track for a bicycle. This track leaves Glen Tilt and runs up and over to the Tarff hotel, which is rather a grand name for this building on the Tarff. Crossing the Tarff at this point may not be easy for access to Carn an Fhidhleir and An Sgarsoch but by bike from Linn of Dee is relatively straightforward.
